A whole week of events!
Civic Day is a national celebration of civic pride. It is a day when communities across the country say "we care about where we live".
Blackpool Civic Trust celebrated this year's national Civic Day with an afternoon tea at Dahlia's Kitchen at which it presented the 2017 award for the Best Kept Street to Cherry Tree Gardens. Residents from Cherry Tree Gardens attended the event, together with one of their local councillors, Luke Taylor, who had nominated the area for the award.
Joan Humble, Chair of Blackpool Civic Trust, said 'We were very pleased to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpoool, Cllr Ian Coleman and Mrs Mavis Coleman, together with Blackpool South's MP, Gordon Marsden. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon tea provided by Dahlias Kitchen and celebrated the commitment of the residents of Cherry Tree Gardens to supporting 'civic pride' where they live.
