  • Monthly Meeting – May 2026 Ruth and Keith

    Our next meeting is at 7pm on Monday 18th May 2026 at the Holiday Inn, Talbot Road, Blackpool. Next to Blackpool North Railway Station and tram stop.

    Our guest speakers are Ruth and Keith with an entertaining talk about their award winning comedy theatre show ‘BlackLiver’.

    Non-members are welcome for a suggested donation of £2.

  • Next Monthly Meeting 20th April 2026

  • Monthly Meeting – Annual Robert Evan Mills Lecture – 17th November 2025

    Monday, 17th November, at The Imperial Hotel Blackpool, it’s our November meeting. It will be the annual Robert Evan Mills lecture. This year the lecture is by Bev Carroll and titled. ‘Raikes Hall and the Royal Palace Gardens’.

    Starting at 7pm. Non-members are welcome for a small donation £2. Please note the venue.

  • October Monthly Meeting Short Report

    Monday 20th October 2025 at 7pm

    There was a good turn out for our October meeting in the Holiday Inn Blackpool. A number of proposals were discussed and agreed before the guest speaker, Alistair Baines presented his talk ‘The Life and Times of a Sandgrown Architect’.

    From building Sandcastles at Cleveleys to designing Council buildings, Schools, Colleges, Banks and more. With explanations of features and form. Building works such as the new Stanley Building transformation, Glasdon Innovation Centre and Knott End Golf Clubhouse.

  • Next Monthly Meeting Monday 15th September 2025

    Our next meeting will be held on Monday 15th September 2025 in the Holiday Inn, Talbot Road, Blackpool at 7pm.

    The guest speaker will be

    Carl Carrington, the Head of Planning and Conservation at Blackpool Council.

    The talk will be ‘Key Developments in Blackpool 2023 and 2024’.

    Non-members are welcome for a small donation of £2.

    Please join us at our monthly meeting on Monday 18th August at 7pm in the Holiday Inn, Blackpool. We will discuss matters of interest followed by our guest speaker: Peter Legg, Head of Economic and Cultural Services, Blackpool Council, speaking about the renovation of the Stanley Building on Church Street. Non-members are welcome for a small donation, £2.

  • Monthly Meeting – Monday 16th June

    We hope you will join us at the next members monthly meeting at 7pm on Monday 16th June at the Holiday Inn, Talbot Road.

    We will discuss our activities and plans, followed by our guest speaker.

    The guest speaker is Local Historian, Anne Charlesworth, talking about the early development of South Shore starting from 1819

    Non-members are welcome for the small contribution of £2.
